About Z-Index Inspector

Z-Index Inspector turns a scattered stacking-order problem into a single sorted view. Breadcrumb paths identify where each layer sits, so similarly named objects can be distinguished without opening every branch of the layer tree.

The list refreshes with canvas changes and shows whether an item is hidden, locked or a component replica. Hidden parent layers also affect the status shown for their children.

Plugin details

Open the plugin, inspect the sorted list and click a row to navigate to its layer, including across pages.

Includes project-wide scanning, breadcrumbs, live updates and hidden/locked/replica badges.

Layers with explicit z-index values become a sorted navigable list.

Reads layers across Framer pages without an external service.

No account or additional setup is required.

The Framer plugin is free to use.
